What's Happening in Parks and Recreation!
Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that draws from martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. It empowers people of all shapes and sizes by connecting the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Classes are taken barefoot to soul-stirring music in more than 45 countries. Every experience can be adapted to individual needs and abilities. Step into your own joyful journey with Nia, and positively shape the way you feel, look, think and live. Classes meet Mondays 9:30 and 10:30 AM and on Thursday at 6:30 PM.

Fun Express
Fun Express will be offered May 28 - May 31, 2013. Pre- Registrations is required for this session. No drop-ins will be allowed. The fee for this session is $100. Leisure & Instructional Activities
Tutoring Available
Tutoring by appointment is available at the Ed Davis Learning Center Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:00 - 5:00 PM. Tutoring is provided in partnership by the Georgetown - Scott County Parks and Recreation department and the Georgetown College's College of Education. Small group worshops will be conducted to assist in math, science, and general homework. For more information please call (502) 867-5846.
Gardening Class
Join the UK Cooperative Extension Service of Scott County as they provide instruction on how to care and preserve the soil for planting and raising a successful garden. Classes meet on Tuesday beginning April 9, 2013 from 5:00 - 6:00 PM at the Ed Davis Learning Center. for more information contact the Ed Davis Learning Center at (502) 867-5846.
Horseshoe League

American Red Cross Courses
Several opportunities to participate in the Lifeguard Training Course will be offered. Registrations for the next session will be held through May 3, 2013. Class dates are May 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9.The course fee is $200. Click here for more information.
Lifeguard Recertification Class will hold registration March 6 - May 3, 2013 at The Pavilion. The course fee is $100. Class dates are May 11, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM and May 12, 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Learn how to keep your family and guests safe in your home pool or around open water. Registration will be held April 1 - May 8, 2013. The fee is $20 R / $30 NR.
Georgetown Stingrays
The Georgetown Stingrays Summer Swim and Dive Team will hold registrations on Saturday, April 27 from 12:00 - 3:00 PM; Tuesday, May 14 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM; and Saturday, May 18 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. All registrations will be taken at The Pavilion. Click here for more information. |
